• Food preservative: Calcium propionate can inhibit the growth of molds, yeasts, and aerobic bacteria, extend the shelf life of flour products such as bread, pastries, and steamed buns, and maintain their color, aroma, taste, and nutritional value. For example, adding it to bread can prevent mold growth on the surface of the bread.
• Feed additive: Adding calcium propionate to feed can inhibit molds, prevent mildew, and extend the storage period. It can also regulate the pH value of the animal's gastrointestinal tract, promote the growth of beneficial bacteria, and improve the digestion and absorption capacity of animals. For instance, after adding an appropriate amount of calcium propionate to pig feed, the daily weight gain and feed conversion rate of pigs can be improved.
