Potassium chloride (KCl) is a colorless or white crystalline solid, highly soluble in water, with a salty taste and a melting point of approximately 770°C. It is chemically stable and serves as an important source of potassium.
In the food industry, it is used as a low-sodium salt substitute and nutritional fortifier; in the medical field, it treats hypokalemia and supplements electrolytes; in agriculture, it acts as a potash fertilizer to promote plant growth; and in industry, it is utilized for water treatment, de-icing agents, and electroplating, among other applications.
